A dolog tök ártatlanul kezdődött, a technical support fórumon valaki reklamált, hogy battlenetről letöltős full reinstall után az intró helyett egy “this cinematic is not available” hibaüzenetet kapott. Aztán valahogy addig fajult a dolog, hogy egy supportos blue poster a következőt írta:

Alright, so we’ve completed the investigation and it appears that from this point forward, the digital download will no longer include the game Pre-rendered Cinematics/Cutscenes as part of the download. As such the Wrath loading cinematic, Wrathgate, etc… will no longer be installed with the game when using the digital streaming download. This may change in the future(no promises, heh) however for right now they are not part of the digital download.

Vagyis a digitális terjesztésben elérhető WoW render és ingame mozik nélküli verzió lesz mostantól. Ezt később meg is erősíti:

So for your clarification, at this time the cinematics are not available from Blizzard either by direct download or by the digital download client. Running the repair tool will also not result in them being downloaded so at this time either independent download or copying from an existing Wrath of the Lich King Installation is needed however you can always view the cinematics at any time by going to Blizzard’s youtube page.

Vagyis bocsi, nincs mozi, ha hiányzik, nézd meg a YouTube-on. Szerény kérdésem a következő:

Bár a rendes embereket, akik FS-előrendeléssel élnek, ez a probléma persze nem érinti, a dolog messzemenőkig értelmetlen. Remélhetőleg csak félrebeszélt a supportos fazon.

UPDATE!! Bashik tiszta vizet öntött a pohárba, és elmondta, hogy a letölthető verziót megvásárló játékosok is megkapják az intrókat és az in-game átvezető mozikat.

We’d like to take a moment to clarify how we’ll be delivering World of Warcraft: Cataclysm cinematics to players who purchase the expansion digitally through Battle.net or download the installer from the web in the future.

Prior to the December 7 launch of Cataclysm, all current World of Warcraft players will receive the Cataclysm intro cinematic as part of an upcoming patch. In addition, all other in-game cinematics (including previous ones such as the Wrathgate movie) will be available for download to players who have not previously installed them. These cinematics will be automatically downloaded in the background while you play the game, after other critical game data has been received.
